The ship has sailed on 1899‘s time on Netflix. 

The thriller thriller collection—which starred Emily Beecham, Aneurin Barnard, Andreas Pietschmann and Miguel Bernardeau—has been cancelled by the streaming service greater than a month after releasing its first season on Nov. 17, its creators have introduced.

“With a heavy coronary heart we’ve got to let you know that 1899 is not going to be renewed,” co-showrunners Jantje Friese and Baran bo Odar introduced on Odar’s Instagram. “We’d have liked to complete this unimaginable journey with a 2nd and third season as we did with Darkish. However typically issues do not end up the way in which you deliberate.”

The assertion continued, “That is life. We all know this can disappoint tens of millions of followers on the market. However we wish to thanks from the underside of our hearts that you just have been part of this excellent journey. We love you. Always remember.”

Within the feedback, followers and the celebs of the present have expressed their disappointment on the collection’ unfinished ending. 

Lucas Lynggaard Tønnesen, who performed the position of Krester within the present, commented, “We’ll see one another once more in one other simulation. Love you to the moon and again.”

One fan went on to slam the latest transfer from Netflix, writing, “It is not their first bizarre determination. so unhappy. hope one other platform decide your present up and provides you a chance to finish this story.”
