Musicians to Busk at Joe Strummer Mural to Honor Late Conflict Legend

A bevy of musicians will honor Joe Strummer on the twentieth anniversary of his passing this Thursday (December twenty second) by busking in entrance of a well-known New York Metropolis mural of the legendary Conflict singer-guitarist. Featured artists embrace members of D Technology and Gogol Bordello.

The annual “Gates of the West” vacation profit takes place 6-8 p.m. on the painted Strummer memorial on the aspect of the bar Niagara on 112 Avenue A. If there’s rain or snow (at the moment rain is within the forecast), the tribute will transfer to the stage inside Niagara.

Among the many performers are Niagara co-owner and D Technology frontman Jesse Malin, Gogol Bordello singer Eugene Hutz, and the The So So Glows, plus a couple of dozen different artists. Strummer sadly died on the younger age of fifty on December twenty second, 2002, at his house in Somerset, England, after getting back from strolling his canine. His official reason behind dying was an undiagnosed congenital coronary heart defect. His dying preceded The Conflict’s induction into the Rock & Roll Corridor of Fame by just some months.
