Austrian actor Florian Teichtmeister, who stars alongside Vicky Krieps in Marie Kreutzer’s Oscar contender Corsage, has been charged with possession of kid pornography.
A courtroom spokeswoman confirmed on Friday that authorities discovered some 58,000 digital photos that includes pornographic depictions of minors, some as younger as 14, in Teichtmeister’s possession. His trial is about to start Feb. 8. He faces as much as two years in jail.
Teichtmeister intends to plead responsible and assume full accountability, his lawyer Michael Rami stated in an announcement to Germany’s dpa information company. “He confessed all through the investigation and at all times cooperated with the authorities,” Rami stated.
Teichtmeister’s lawyer argued that his consumer didn’t commit any legal acts straight towards the individuals depicted within the pornographic photos, calling his offense a “purely digital crime.”
In Corsage, Teichtmeister performs Emperor Franz Joseph, the husband to guide Vicky Krieps’ Empress Elisabeth. The movie is a fictional, feminist revisionist account of the 19th century monarch and her portrayal in such movies as Sissi (1955) starring Romy Schneider.
